The Client

Our client is quite simply one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, with a reputation for being one of the best organisations to work for globally. We are presently seeking a Supply Chain Co-Ordinator for an initial 12 month contract, but if the candidate performs well it is likely to lead to longer term opportunities.


To ensure a Production Schedule is developed for assigned product(s) to meet customer requirements. The role is required to understand many APO/SAP screens to carry out transactions. APO/SAP is a complex system and the data is technical This role will be responsible for ensuring each work centre (e.g. production – both on site and third party operators, laboratories, QC, warehouse and shipping) can meet the MPS and drive the resolution of any constraints. Close working relationships are required both on and off site including other sites and Contract Manufacturers to manage complex supply chains.

Work with alliance partners to conduct multifunctional Joint Process Teams to build and develop relationships

Ensure OSSCE processes are in place for assigned products, monitored and appropriate actions taken and implemented in accordance with Class A principles.

Have a high level of ownership for Inventory Management focusing on setting inventory targets and minimising losses.

Expected to manage and/or represent the Site/Team on key supply chain projects.

Set up and maintain a 24 month Master Production schedule for assigned products. This must be done to a strict timetable on a monthly basis and discussed with Work Centres Leaders and Alliance Partners prior to approval

Present the MPS at the monthly Team S&OP meeting for approval ensuring any capacity constraints preventing the MPS from being achieved are highlighted appropriately. Attend and participate in Global and Site S&OP processes were applicable.

Develop and improve alliance relationships by operating multifunctional JPTs.  Present key data and work with alliance partners to drive improvement activities

Convert P Requisitions to purchase orders

Drive resolution of capacity constraints within work centres. Ensure any major capacity issues are escalated appropriately.

Run ‘What If’ scenarios when required to ensure the Master Schedule is optimised from both a supply chain and manufacturing perspective. The role will be key in determining the most profitable way to produce products by assessing impacts of reduce lead times, cycle times, alternative raw materials and equipment.

Ownership for OSSCE Class A performance for assigned products and drive improvements

Use metrics to influence work centre owners and ensure appropriate actions are raised and implemented including Contract Manufacturers

Ensure all checks required to support OSSCE Class A have taken place in accordance with procedures.

Inventory Management Ownership for assigned products. The job holder will be responsible for the ensuring the following activities take place inventory targets are generated and reviewed regularly.

Cycle counts (including resolution of discrepancies) are conducted within agreed schedules.

Provisions , losses, variance and inventory reports are reviewed and appropriate actions taken destruction process implemented in a timely manner.

Present inventory review on a monthly basis and drive key decisions.

Play an active role both Site and Global Supply Chain initiatives. This will involve Implementation of Product line extensions (i.e. different pack sizes or labels to an item already supplied to the market). This involves co-ordination across the total value chain from affiliate, through regulatory, through packaging and manufacturing to ensure products meet required launch dates Manage and/or participate in key supply chain projects. This will include Global, site and team projects.

Minimum Requirements:

Previous experience in supply chain management

Knowledge of supply chain tools and business processes

Experience with manufacturing and supply chain operations

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written & presentation skills)


Additional Preferences:

Pharmaceutical industry and supply chain experience in direct operations, and familiarity with GMP and other regulatory requirements

CPIM or MCIPs certified (or working toward certification)

Experience interfacing with various manufacturing functional groups, such as production, logistics, quality control, quality assurance, and technical services

Experience with SAP/APO

Experience with production planning and scheduling
