THE ROLE

Our Client is looking for someone to be an integral part of their senior team working closely with the board to ensure the smooth day to day running and improvement of the finance department. Whilst this role is primarily finance focused, there will be opportunities to use your skills in other areas such as operations, commercial and legal support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The objective of the role is to support the Board to ensure the efficient day to day running of the finance department to support the business and bring efficiency improvements; including but not limited to:

Monthly management accounts preparation with commentary, analysis and presentation to the Management Team.

Raising sales invoices according to information from the various Heads of Business Units.

Budgeting, forecasting and long range planning.

Business reporting with various Product teams.

Handle or supervise day-to-day accounting operations.

Statutory and tax reporting including Research & Development tasks.

Continually improving internal processes and controls.

Management of associate and supplier POs & invoices.

Expenses management

Bank reconciliations

VAT preparation

Payroll and pension data entry into Xero

Credit control

Sales and purchases ledger management

Assisting Board with implementing the Finance & Ops Plan objectives

Supporting Board on future commercial initiatives including fund-raising, international expansion and other such strategic initiatives.

Resilient

Able to work with stakeholders who are not finance focused

Able to work in a constantly evolving environment, while remaining aware about what is important to maintain stability

Assertive and determined and able to see things through

Proactive: self-starter, keen to make a difference

Can work independently with minimum supervision

Great attention to detail

 

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Degree qualified and/or AAT / CIMA

Experience of Xero is essential

Experience of working in G Suite is preferred (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)

Technology and/or Startup industry experience

Focused on system and reporting improvements
